Meet Our Local Producers

Picture
Drew's Honeybees of Norwich, CT
Fiddleheads is proud to proclaim that we were the first stockist of Drew's Honeybees! Drew's products are the embodiment of pure and sustainable. Every item has been certified organic, cruelty free, non-gmo, gluten free, sugar free, paraben free and dairy free. Rather than relying on questionable chemicals and faux fragrances, Drew's Honeybees products are entirely composed of only the purest, most natural ingredients. Organic beeswax nourishes and protects skin from summer sun, right through harsh New England winters while other ingredients like organic sunflower oil helps your skin retain moisture and organic, fair trade Madagascar vanilla is not merely intoxicating to smell but also antioxidant rich. Founder Drew Burnett has even pledged to donate 20% of profits to the Connecticut Agricultural Honeybee Station Honeybee Program in support of their research to stem Colony Collapse Disorder. Many Fiddleheads employees have loyally toted around Drew's lip balms since receiving our first samples, we know you'll love these products too. Stop by the Wellness section today to see what the buzz is all about!
Nantucket Spider of Wilton, CT
Nantucket Spider was created by friends Nancy Jack and Jeffrey Busch when Nancy, an environmental lawyer, used mainstream bug spray while on a job site - only to find that it dissolved her nylons! Seeking an effective, natural alternative to these chemical filled bug repellents, Nantucket Spider was born. From blends of natural ingredients, Nantucket Spider offers bug sprays for the whole family (including your four legged loved ones) to keep mosquitoes, biting flies, and ticks at bay.
Herb Garden Naturals of Stony Creek, CT
Borrowing from a lifetime of experience in an array of roles ranging from herbalist and gardener to beekeeper and pastry chef, Carole Barber started Herb Garden Naturals in 2008 to provide customers with gentle, effective and thoughtfully handcrafted soaps. Carole mindfully chooses herbs with particular properties to enhance her products and includes ingredients like dead sea salt, natural clay, seeds, pumice, oats and essential oils to offer soaps that cleanse and nourish.
Treefort Naturals of Colchester, CT
Treefort Naturals is known for their quality, handmade, small batch soaps. Since first selling at farmers markets in 2012 the business has prioritized incorporating locally sourced ingredients from nearby farms and suppliers and also takes pride in growing their own raw ingredients. Treefort Naturals' products never contain synthetic fragrance, dyes and preservatives, are free of GMOs and have been certified "cruelty free" by PETA's Beauty without Bunnies initiative. Beyond soaps, Treefort Naturals is now offering deodorant cream and a shampoo bar.
Burly Stone of Mystic, CT
Launched in the Spring of 2014, Burly Stone was born from the desire to offer larger, hardier, more robust soaps as an alternative to dainty and flowery, mainstream offerings. With large bars weighing in at nearly 3/4 of a pound, and names like "The Rebel" and "The Mechanic," Burly Stone offers products with classically masculine scents like leather, clove and bay rum. Since their founding, Burly Stone has expanded and now offers items beyond soap including solid cologne, hand balms, shave soap, beard elixirs and even soap for man's best friend.
Wholly Goat of Hebron, CT
Established in 2015 with just 4 goats, Wholly Goat Farm has expanded to include 19 goats whose milk is the most important ingredient in their rich, creamy soaps. By combining goat milk with essential oils (and never resorting to the use of palm oil), Wholly Goat Farm now offers dozens of unique options like peppermint, orange cedarwood, lavender, tea tree and charcoal, lavender and lemongrass, rosemary mint, vanilla sandalwood, patchouli, apple cinnamon and eucalyptus spearmint. Wholly Goat also now offers lotions and lip balm.
